Bit Loop
A downloadable game
This game is for the
GMTK Game Jam 2025
Theme: Loop
First Game Jam. I wish i had more available time over this Jam, but working on this have given me MAD respect for the quality some people output from scratch in such a short amount of time for these Game Jams.

I am a Creative technologist in Australia who deeply appoligises for making this oddity of "puzzle game? 🤔" up on the fly inbetween a busy weekend of lyfe.
Puzzle game creation is not my forte, so was nice to just make up stuff as i went along.
Feedback is greatly appreciated.
---
Hopefully post GameJam review I will be at least be adding the Tutorial and the Score/Ranking System that I could not finished prior to Jam Submission.
v1.01 - Tutorial System
v1.02 - Score/Ranking System
v1.03 - Proper Puzzle Tunning and more puzzles
v1.04 - Random selction of Modifier Cards to choose from after each loop.
v1.05 - Better Audio and More Audio selctions. UI Clean up and animations.
Testing at the end was minumal due to time... so let me know of all the issue haha

Notes:
- Have noticed The UI can be funky and misplaced in some cases.
Clearly doesn't adjust to all screen sizes due to some UI being worldspaced 🤦♂️. I cant fix until the Jam is over as even if you enter windowed mode you cant resize. So Appolgies if you get misaligned UI 🫠

Tutorial Below:
A game about matching the Loop.
Someone from somewhere requires you to solves the loops...
A odd cassette tape like loop spins empty... and a stranger seems to be desiring
a match. (Which can be seen in the top right corner)
Strange numbered "Bits" start to fall from no where to either aid or disrupt your progress. Clicking Left Mouse Click these falling Bits will change their color.
When any of the falling Bits land at the bottom of the Loop they will count down to the loops movement. Once they hit zero they are consumed into the Loop.
Bits:
At the top center over the Loop there is an interface called "The Stitcher".
The Stitcher can be used to make an edit to the Bit in the Loop that is currently under it by clicking the Space Bar. Luckily for us The Stitcher only replaces with colors that are contained in the desired loop.
Sticher:
If you do happen to miss changing a color correctlty using The Sticher or want to attempt to have one of those random Bits that are counting down to align elsewhere you can you "Rewind". To Rewind the Loop hold down the Right Mouse Button at any time. This is super handy to get a Loop done quicker!
Rewind:
With this knowledge you can complete the Loop by matching the desired patten.
The Loop will know you have matched the pattern. It doesnt need to rotate into place. It just needs to match overall.
Complete the small loops of varied speed.
Then tackle the bigger loops.
Then... the trip loops.
... wait! There is a way to adjust more of the Loop ... with "Tools"!
A certain amount of Tools per level can also fall from no where with the Bits.
They have a uniuque color so they are easy to spot and usually hold more than one Tool, which can be viewed and cycled through by clicking Left Mouse click on them before they get to the bottom of the Loop. When they reach the bottom of the Loop they will be moved to an available Slot in your Tools pannel (Which is on the top left of the screen). If your Tools Panel has no empty Slots then the Tool will stay stuck on the bottom of the Loop until you free a Slot up. This could aid you or cause you trouble.... who knows 🤷♂️.
But... how do i use Tools?
Left Mouse click on the tool you wan to use to activate it. Each tool only stays active for a brief amount of time.
The Bomb will pause the Loop and let you click Left Mouse click a side of the loop to reset to empty.
The Pause will pause the Loop and let you click Left Mouse click on any of the Bits in the Loop to cylcle them to color that you want.
The Lock will pause the Loop and let you click Left Mouse click on any of the Bits in the Loop to prevent them from being affected by the Bits that are falling from knowwhere.
TLDR; JWTP;
Make edits to a ever revolving loop to make a match to the desired pattern.
